What we believe

We believe the people closest to care should have the greatest voice in how it’s given. That’s why every caregiver at Melody is an owner — invested in your loved one’s dignity, safety and joy as if their name is on the door. Because it is.

The Melody Inc. team

Our care

Care, composed in four movements.

No two people share the same rhythm. Every Melody care plan is written around one person — their routines, their preferences, their goals — and reviewed by our nurse to keep it safe.

Where we care

At home — or wherever home is.

Care looks different for everyone. We meet people where they live, and fit around the routines that make a day feel like theirs.

In your home

Care that fits around your routines, in the place you know best — so you can stay independent, comfortable and close to the people you love.

In your care facility

We partner with facilities to add one-on-one attention, companionship and nurse oversight for residents who deserve a little more.

The Melody difference

Cared for by owners — not just employees.

Most agencies are run from the top down. Melody is run from the bedside up. The people who care for your family hold a real stake in the agency — so those closest to the care have the greatest voice in how it’s delivered.

A voice in every decision

Our caregivers and nurse meet monthly as owners to review how we’re doing, improve how we care, and vote on the changes that matter.

A founder’s mindset

When your name is on the door, you notice the small things. Every visit carries our reputation — and our team treats it that way.

Familiar faces who stay

Ownership is a long-term commitment. We’re built for steady, consistent relationships — not a rotating cast of strangers.

Safety at the center

Our nurse leads a Health & Safety committee that monitors outcomes and keeps every care plan safe and compliant.

Every seat at the table is an owner’s seat Four voices. One promise.

How we lead

Three questions. One harmony.

Every decision at Melody is tested against three questions — one from each part of our team. When all three ring true, that’s harmony. Tap a note to hear it.

Questions

Answers, gently given.

Don’t see your question? Call us — we’re always happy to talk it through.

Who does Melody Inc. care for?

We care for adults living with physical, intellectual or developmental disabilities, older adults who want to stay independent, and the families who support them. If you’re not sure whether we’re the right fit, reach out — we’ll help you find the right care, even if it isn’t ours.

Do you provide care at home, in facilities, or both?

Both. We care for people in their own homes, and we partner with care facilities to add one-on-one support, companionship and nurse oversight for their residents.

What does “employee-owned” mean for my family?

The people caring for your loved one have a real stake in Melody. They meet monthly to review how we’re doing, suggest improvements and vote on key decisions. In practice, that means caregivers who are invested for the long run, who speak up when something could be better, and who treat the quality of your care as their own reputation.

How is your nurse involved in my care?

Kristen, our nurse and Clinical Care Lead, completes health assessments, reviews and updates every care plan, trains our caregivers in medication support and emergency signs, and leads our Health & Safety committee. She’s the bridge between daily living support and medical health.

Do you accept Medicaid and SPED?

Yes — we work with North Dakota’s Medicaid Waiver, SPED and Medicaid State Plan programs, as well as private pay. If you qualify for a program, your case manager authorizes your services and we bill the program directly. We’re glad to help you understand your options.

Is there a minimum visit length?

For private-pay services billed in 15-minute units (like homemaker, companionship or respite), visits have a 2-hour minimum so our caregivers’ travel time is covered. Daily-rate services are billed by the day.

Can my care plan change over time?

Absolutely. Needs change, and your plan should too. Our nurse reviews care plans regularly, and you can ask for changes any time — more hours, different services, or a new routine.

What should I do in an emergency?

Always call 911 first in a medical emergency. For extra peace of mind at home, ask us about an Emergency Response System — a wearable button that makes it easy to call for help.
